Zero Tolerance for Aggressive or Abusive Behaviour

At Sprout Psychology Melbourne, we are committed to providing high-quality health care services to our clients. We value the safety and well-being of our team and clients, and we recognise that incidents of aggressive or abusive behaviour can compromise the quality of care we provide. Therefore, we have developed this policy to ensure that our team is protected from any form of verbal, physical, or emotional abuse from clients, parents or guardians. This policy outlines our expectations for acceptable behaviour and the consequences of any violation. We aim to provide a safe and supportive environment for both our team and clients, and we ask that all parents or guardians respect our policy and work with us to create a positive experience for everyone involved.

Zero Tolerance for Aggressive or Abusive Behaviour

Our clinic has a zero-tolerance policy for any aggressive or abusive behaviour from clients, parents or guardians towards our team. We will not tolerate any form of verbal, physical, or emotional abuse.

Consequences of Aggressive or Abusive Behaviour

If a client, parent or guardian is found to be displaying aggressive or abusive behaviour towards our team, our clinic reserves the right to take appropriate action. This may include:

  • Asking the person to leave the premises immediately.

  • Refusing to provide further services to the person.

  • Reporting the incident to the appropriate authorities, if necessary.

Reporting Incidents of Aggressive or Abusive Behaviour

All incidents of aggressive or abusive behaviour will be documented and reported to the clinic's management team. The management team will review the incident and determine the appropriate action to take. If necessary, the incident may be reported to the appropriate authorities.

Acknowledgment of Policy

All clients, parents or guardians are informed of our clinic's policy for dealing with aggressive or abusive behaviour during their orientation session.

Reinstatement of Services

If a client, parent or guardian has been asked to leave the premises or refused further services due to their aggressive or abusive behaviour, they may be considered for reinstatement of services at the discretion of the management team. Any reinstatement of services will be contingent on the client, parent or guardian agreeing to adhere to our clinic's policy for dealing with aggressive or abusive behaviour.
